MovieTalk: 'RON'S GONE WRONG', Exciting Friendship with Malfunctioning Robot

RON'S GONE WRONG presents the unique friendship story of Barney and Ron. What's interesting is that Ron himself is a malfunctioning robot compared to other robots. However, this brings them on an exciting adventure and a touching story. The movie is currently playing in theaters. Before watching it, check out some interesting facts below.

Barney Pudowski is a fun but awkward student who has trouble finding friends. He also doesn't have one thing that guarantees popularity at his school: a digital device called B*Bot that can walk, talk, and connect digitally, designed to be the perfect solution for navigating social challenges at school.

B*Bot only adds to Barney's awkwardness when he tries to interact with his friends. Some of his good friends even distance themselves after B*Bot comes into the picture.

Like a gadget, B*Bot can be modified according to the user's request and can perform human-like activities. You can hardly tell the difference between Ron and any other B*Bot.

The story begins with the arrival of Ron, a malfunctioning B*Bot as Barney's birthday present. Instead of functioning properly, Ron has many errors. The voice actor admitted that he faced a big challenge in playing this role. "At first, I sounded too emotional. How do you make your voice not too cute and lovable? That's the challenge," said Zach Galifianakis. Indeed, throughout the film, we will hear a robotic voice that is both static and dynamic from him.

Why was Ron made to malfunction? Surely the director has a purpose in mind. "I want every film to be a message from me to my child. Part of Ron's personality is inspired by things I want to say to my daughter who sits in her bed at night worrying about not having friends. I want to say 'it's okay... just because you don't have it now doesn't mean friends won't come.' That's the foundation of Ron's personality: things you want your child to understand so they don't have to go through all the pain and suffering as they grow up," explained director, writer, and executive producer Sarah Smith.

Unexpectedly, the friendship between Barney and Ron actually breaks the boundaries that have existed but have not been felt by B*Bot users.

Barney and Ron have many exciting adventures. Barney no longer worries about Ron's malfunction status.

However, at one point. Barney and Ron face a complicated problem. This leads them to dangerous situations. What is the complete story? Watch it soon in theaters.

The cute design of Ron and B*Bot is based on the director's desire to depict B*Bot as an Apple gadget. "360-degree screen, like a running podcast. Through their screens, we can present different personas. There will be gaming enthusiasts, they will look like gamers. There will be many characters here," concluded the press conference.
