Shooting of 'EUPHORIA' Season 3 Begins in January 2025, All Main Cast Return!

Kapanlagi.com - The third season of Euphoria will finally begin production soon. After a long delay, HBO has confirmed that filming for the third season of this Emmy-winning series will start in January 2025, with all the main cast returning.

"We are very excited to begin production of Euphoria this January. Our creative collaboration with Sam and these amazing actors truly has us looking forward to it. We can’t wait to bring a new season of Euphoria to the fans," said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO and head of the drama and film division.

1. Reasons for the Delayed Series

This means that the production of Euphoria Season 3 will begin almost exactly three years after the premiere of Season 2. Initially, HBO announced that the production of this new season was delayed until March 2024.

This delay is caused by several factors, including: the writers' and actors' strike in 2023; the drastic rise in the popularity of the cast leading them to be involved in many other projects; and the creator, Sam Levinson's, desire to write the entire story himself.

2. Some Cast Members Won't Be Returning for Season 3

Previously, Variety reported that Sam Levinson had shared his ideas with HBO at the end of 2023 and early 2024 for the third season of Euphoria. These ideas included a five-year time jump and a possible storyline for Rue, such as working as a private detective. However, HBO ultimately decided to postpone production until the story could be more aligned with the previous two seasons.

The main cast of Euphoria includes Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane. Angus Cloud, who was known for his role as Fezco, passed away at the age of 25 in July 2023. Meanwhile, several other cast members have confirmed that they will not be returning for the next season, such as Barbie Ferreira.

3. Zendaya The Star and Producer

Zendaya also serves as an executive producer on Euphoria, while Sam Levinson is not only the executive producer but also the director. Other executive producers include Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel "Future" Nur, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein. Kevin Turen, who was also previously an executive producer, passed away at the age of 44 in November 2023.

In addition to receiving outstanding ratings, Euphoria has also become a strong contender at the awards for HBO. To date, the series has received 25 Emmy nominations with nine wins. Some of these include two wins for Zendaya in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, as well as one win for Colman Domingo as Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Sam Levinson also won the DGA award for the second season episode titled Stand Still Like the Hummingbird.
