Since its release on November 22, 2024, the popularity of WICKED has soared. Adapted from the novel Wicked (1995) inspired by The Wizard of Oz (1939), the success of this film has received positive responses from audiences and critics worldwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the debut of WICKED immediately topped the Hollywood box office this week, even surpassing other Oz adaptation films. Many viewers were captivated by the visual grandeur and musical atmosphere presented throughout the film.

In the past few days, Universal Pictures has also released several new videos showcasing behind-the-scenes footage of the making of WICKED on the film's official YouTube channel. For those who don't know, here are some interesting facts behind the scenes of the making of WICKED!

As fellow singers, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo chose to sing every WICKED soundtrack live during the filming process. An extraordinary dedication!

Jeff Goldblum, the actor playing the Wizard of Oz, even shed tears while watching Cynthia Erivo passionately perform the song I'm Not That Girl.

WICKED features an amazing set of props, including the Emerald City castle built from scratch. Magnificent and filled with impressive details!

The flower garden in Munchkin Land actually consists of 9 million real tulips. These flowers were specially planted for the filming of WICKED.

The Emerald City train was actually built for real. Constructed by the production team, the train weighs up to 16 tons!

Remember the scene where Glinda arrives at Shiz University in her boat? The lake in that scene is a real pond, as is the construction of the building.

The Wizard of Oz symbol that appears in this film was even made physically, using the same materials that were used to create ceramic statues.   Don't forget to watch WICKED! If not now, when else?
