After years of being bombed, blown up by dynamite, crushed by giant magnets, buried under rocks, and run over by trains due to the consistently problematic products of Acme Corporation in his pursuit of the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote finally discovers evidence of the company's practice of covering up the facts.

Now unemployed, Coyote decides to take an unexpected step by hiring a human lawyer named Kevin Avery to sue Acme Corporation in court.

On the other side, Acme is represented by Buddy Crane, a tough lawyer who happens to be Kevin's former boss.

Instead of facing each other as enemies, Kevin and Buddy gradually rebuild their relationship and ultimately collaborate to win the legal case against the corporate giant that has long harmed Wile E. Coyote.

This film presents a new side of Wile E. Coyote, portrayed as a symbol of perseverance in the face of failure, especially when confronting the power of a multinational corporation.

- Will Forte plays Kevin Avery, the lawyer for Wile E. Coyote and the head of the law firm Avery, Jones & Maltese.

- John Cena portrays Buddy Crane, the legal representative of Acme Corporation who is being sued by Wile E. Coyote.

- Lana Condor appears as Paige Avery, Kevin's optimistic and youthful niece.

3. Production Dynamics Until Release in 2026

In November 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery decided to shelve this film to receive a tax write-off of 30 million USD, making it the third film to face a similar fate after Batgirl and Scoob!.

This decision sparked widespread backlash from fans and the film industry, leading Warner Bros. to open the option of selling the distribution rights of this film to another party.

After some uncertainty due to all offers being considered too low, the global distribution rights for this film were finally purchased by Ketchup Entertainment in March 2025 for about 50 million USD.

Coyote vs Acme premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026. The theatrical release in U.S. cinemas is scheduled for August 28, 2026.

This series of events concludes the long wait for fans since the project was first announced in 2022.
