Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan encounters a suspicious teenager during a protest march. Realizing that he is armed, she chases him through the city streets until he stops and points his weapon directly at her. There is a lifeless naked body lying next to him. As the teenager escapes, Shahara realizes she did not hear his weapon go off.
Unbeknownst to her, the same victim appears in the same location at three different points in time: in 1890 (Victorian era), 1941 (World War II), and 30 years in the future. Each time involves a different detective but the same victim. As the four detectives try to solve this case, they uncover a mystery that could endanger hundreds of thousands of lives.
