The song titled TOMBOY by (G)I-DLE is the title track of the album I NEVER DIE. On March 30, 2022, TOMBOY became the fourth Korean song released in 2022 to occupy the first place on MelOn for the longest time, which is 218 hours.
Released on April 5, Big Bang's song titled Still Life became the longest-running song at number one on the MelOn Top 100, with a total of 808 hours. This song previously held the record for the longest-running Korean song in 2022 before being broken by Younha's song Event Horizon, which lasted for 819 hours.
The song Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment) popularized by BTS is the first song this year to immediately skyrocket to number one upon its release. This song only took one hour to dominate the chart on June 10 at 1 PM local time.
The song IVE, Love Dive, topped the daily MelOn chart for over two months after its release and remained on top for 485 hours. Not only that, IVE joined BLACKPINK, aespa, Brave Girls, and (G)I-DLE as girl groups that have reached number one on the 24 Hits Melon.
The song Attention by NewJeans topped the MelOn TOP 100 chart on August 9, eight days after the debut EP of this rookie group was released. On September 4, Attention surpassed 400 hours at the top of the charts.
Although not the title track of the BORN PINK studio album, Pink Venom successfully topped the Top 100 MelOn chart. The song reached the first position just 11 hours after its release, making BLACKPINK the fastest K-pop girl group to top the charts in 2022 (as of August 19).
On August 28 at 8 p.m. local time, the title track After Like by IVE soared to the top of the real-time domestic music charts including Melon. The song stayed at the top of the charts for 658 hours (as of November 2).
On October 17, (G)I-DLE made a comeback with their fifth mini album I love, which features Nxde as the title track. Nxde became the fastest fourth-generation group song released in 2022 to top the major domestic real-time charts, achieving this feat just 27 hours after its release.
On December 16, NCT Dream released a Christmas/winter-themed mini album featuring six songs, including Candy. With the song Candy, NCT joined BIGBANG and BTS as the 3 boy groups that reached #1 on the MelOn Top 100 chart in 2022.1
NewJeans skyrocketed to the top of the MelOn Top 100 chart just two hours after releasing their new single Ditto on December 19, setting a new record for the group. With that, Ditto became the fastest girl group song to reach the first place on the MelOn Top 100 chart.
