Cha Seo Won and Uhm Hyun Kyung recently surprised everyone with the happy news of their engagement, pregnancy, and wedding plans. After much speculation, Cha Seo Won, who is currently rising in popularity, finally spoke up about their relationship, followed by a statement from Uhm Hyun Kyung's label. On June 5th, 2023, Cha Seo Won appeared on his fan cafe to write a letter to his fans. In a handwritten letter, the actor confirmed the news of his romantic relationship with Uhm Hyun Kyung.
"Hello, I'm Cha Seo Won. It's been a while, nice to see you again. I feel like my mind and body have become healthier while I was in the military. I think many of you may be surprised reading the news. I'm writing to you all because I want to be the one to tell you this news. I have met my lover and life partner. She makes me laugh and gives me happiness, so I want to make her happy. We started dating with good feelings and are now considering marriage," wrote Cha Seo Won.
Furthermore, the actor then revealed the news that they are currently expecting their first child.
"There's another good news. We have been blessed with a child. Although I still have a lot of shortcomings, I can feel that the thought of becoming a father has changed my attitude towards life. I can be an actor thanks to all your endless love. I will continue to do my best to become a good actor in the future. I will also do my best as the head of the family and live a life full of love. I will strive to be a good person. Thank you," Cha Seo Won concluded.
Meanwhile, Uhm Hyun Kyung's agency also confirmed the artist's relationship in a brief statement released on the same day.
"We are looking forward to a new precious life with gratitude and caution. We want to share this blessing. We also ask all of you to keep this couple warm and supportive," Yeojin Entertainment said.
For your information, Cha Seo Won, who was born on April 15, 1991, is five years younger than Uhm Hyun Kyung, who was born on November 4, 1986.
Before revealing this happy news, both stars were known to have worked together in two different projects, including 'MISS LEE' (2019) and 'THE SECOND HUSBAND' (2021-2022) which had a happy ending, where they both got married.
Cha Seo Won himself is currently serving in the military. He enlisted as an active soldier on November 22, 2022, but in December 2022, he suffered a minor injury to his finger at the training center. Fortunately, there were no obstacles to his activities and he was able to return to normal training after receiving treatment. He is likely to be discharged from his duties in 2024.
