10 Photos of the First Transgender K-Pop Girl Group that You Might Not Know, Prohibited from Performing in Music Shows - Once Released an Adult Photobook

For those of you who claim to be fans of K-Pop, did you know that there was once an idol group whose members were all transgender? The group named Lady is the first transgender group from South Korea. Let's take a look at their photos!

Inspired by Korean transgender singer Harisu, Lady is a group consisting of four members: Sinae, Sahara, Yoona, and Binu.

In an interview with The Chosun Ilbo, Lady described themselves as women. However, they have one difference from biological women.

"We like chocolate, shopping, and gossip. Mentally, we always feel like women, the only difference is that we have changed something physically, in short, we are women with extra scars," said Lady.

Not only with their beautiful faces, Lady members competed against more than 400 other candidates to secure a spot in the group with their singing and dancing skills. "We will show everyone what we have on stage," they confidently said.

Lady debuted in 2005 with a self-titled album containing eight songs, most of which were remixes of the songs 'Attention' and 'Ladies Night'.

As their song titles suggest, Lady received quite a bit of 'attention' from both local and international media. Unfortunately, they were only able to perform on music shows a few times due to conservative beliefs in South Korea. Their music ultimately did not resonate well with the public.

Failing to debut smoothly, they planned to release an adult photobook titled 'Women, Reflect!' featuring adult photos of the members in hopes of gaining recognition. They posed with men and even posed naked in the photobook.

Knowing that they would stir controversy with the adult photobook, they decided to do the photoshoot after realizing it was their chance to be seen as true women.

In addition, Lady hopes that their photos will not be viewed sexually, but as a form of art. "We believe this will be an opportunity for us to gain recognition as true women. We ask that you all consider the photos as works of art," said Lady.

However, the photobook ultimately failed to boost Lady's name. They disbanded in early 2007. Currently, not much is known about the whereabouts and latest news of its members. What do KLovers think?
