Director Kim Sung-youn explained that he wanted to question the meaning of becoming an adult and having a happy life through The Sound of Magic. In addition, this series also allows for discussions between adults and children.

"When I reread the original story after obtaining adaptation rights, I was touched in a different way than before. After considering that many people would feel connected to the story of a child who lost their dreams due to poverty, I adjusted the story to fit the changes in society," he said.

2. Captivating Cast and Characters

One of the attractions of The Sound of Magic is its captivating characters and strong chemistry among the actors. Ji Chang Wook plays a mysterious magician who wants to keep his childlike spirit, "I have to remember the innocence of my childhood that has been lost with age, as well as the sincerity of the dreams I had when I was a child. I think the process of remembering is the most important part of portraying Ri-eul's character."

Actress Choi Sung Eun plays a teenager named Yoon Ah-yi who is forced to grow up before her time, "When acting, I think about whether the audience can feel connected to Yoon Ah-yi. I can imagine my new side being revealed when working with director Kim Sung-youn."

Hwang In Yeop plays Na Il-deung, a teenager who is forced to fulfill his parents' dreams, "Na Il-deung is so charming, but has difficulty showing his emotions. I try to understand the character of someone who is trying to find what he really likes and wants."

Director Kim Sung-youn, who brings the three together, also reveals the attraction of the actors, "I know that combining Ji Chang Wook's mysterious and childish side will create a more charming version of Ri-eul. Choi Sung Eun displays a certain melancholy side and I like how she conveys Yoon Ah-yi's emotions as if they were her own. Na Il-deung tends to bully and be open about his feelings for the loved one in the original story, but Hwang In Yeop manages to turn him into a more interesting and fun character."

The director also believes that the perfect appearance of the three stars and the harmony among the three characters will strengthen the charm of the story.

Not only can the audience immerse themselves in the story, The Sound of Magic is also ready to present various wonders, music scoring, and choreography that will further enliven this series. Music director Park Sung-il from Itaewon Class and My Mister, lyricist Kim Eana, choreographer Hong Se-jeong from the musical Phantom and The Man Who Laughs, and magician Lee Eun-gyeol have joined the production team to present an unparalleled fantasy musical drama.

"I want to convey Yoon Ah-yi's thoughts as they are. I thought about the right components to depict her emotions and finally led me to the musical element in this series," said the director.

Ji Chang Wook had to learn and practice various magic tricks for three months to play the character Ri-eul. But for the actor, The Sound of Magic is a challenge that feels like a gift. "I'm happy to be part of this project," he said.

Choi Sung Eun also expressed similar sentiments, as she had to act and sing at the same time for the first time. "The lyrics were written so well that they helped me understand some of the emotions of Yoon Ah-yi that were not yet connected to me. This is one of the attractions of a fantasy musical drama, and I am grateful to be part of this project," she said.

On the other hand, Hwang In Yeop praised the music score and various amazing backgrounds that matched the music. "This became a new type of challenge for the various parties involved, but it left many happy memories for me," he said.
