FORECASTING LOVE AND WEATHER marks Cha Young Hun's return to the director's chair after releasing the Grand Prize-winning drama at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards, WHEN THE CAMELLIA BLOOMS. The director also explained the long journey of creating the idea for his latest series.

"Writer Sun Young needed two years of research, staying at the Korean Meteorological Agency for eight months, and working overtime with them for two months to capture the atmosphere there," said Director Cha.

"When I talked to her, we saw similarities between weather and human life. We can never predict what will happen in life, just like the weather. Sometimes predictions can be wrong, but we don't give up. I think that's what makes FORECASTING LOVE AND WEATHER interesting."

2. Romance at the Korean Meteorological Administration

Set in the Korean Meteorological Administration, FORECASTING LOVE AND WEATHER is the first Korean drama that focuses on weather forecasting as its premise. "We will peek into the lives of the employees at the Korean Meteorological Administration, including how they understand and grow together," said director Cha Young Hun.

Placing romance amidst the busy weather service also presents its own challenges for this drama. "The characters must always show emotions, but this is difficult because they actually work in shifts for 12 hours, have meetings about five to six times, and must pay attention to satellite images that change every five to ten minutes. Finding a balance between professionalism and love is the challenge," he explained.

Praise was also given by her co-star Song Kang, who played the character Lee Si Woo, "I have been watching her on TV for a long time, so I was a bit nervous to meet her. In my opinion, Min Young is very experienced, meticulous, and she often asks for my opinion. I appreciate her attitude because we can learn and think together."

Director Cha also commented, "Min Young is the Queen of Romantic Comedy, so Si Woo and I learned a lot from her, especially for romantic scenes. If there is a scene where Si Woo doesn't sound right, Min Young will come and show us the best way to do it. We just follow her."

Highlighting the lives of weather service workers, actress Park Min Young admitted to doubting her decision to take on the role of Jin Ha Kyung.

"I wondered if this was the wrong decision because everything felt new. If it was a medical or legal drama, I could learn the terminology from other shows. But because it's about weather service, I had no idea at all. I had to learn by watching a lot of documentaries. I'm proud that I made it through," said Park Min Young.

Actor Song Kang also shared a similar opinion, adding, "It's very difficult to get used to the terminology in this show. That's why I watched various weather documentaries and noticed that even they struggled to pronounce those terms. I think it's understandable that I struggled too."
