Director Jin Hyuk commented, "When discussing the selection of actors with the scriptwriters, we agreed to work on a different drama if we couldn't get Cho Seung-woo or Park Shin-hye." Director and both screenwriters Lee Jane and Jeon Chan-ho actually started planning Sisyphus four years ago. Sisyphus shows a world where the present and future run side by side. Viewers can see the difference between the current life in Korea being lived by Han Tae-sul, and the destruction that occurs in 2035 where Gang Seo-hae comes from. Amidst their lives, there are several individuals who hide their identities and keep hidden motives. The extraordinary combination of research and imagination allows this series to have a unique storyline. 

4. Thrilling Action

Gang Seo-hae is a brave and clever survivor who is able to adapt quickly. She is willing to risk her life to save Han Tae-sul and the world. You can expect many exciting action scenes as Park Shin-hye fights against their enemies. Park Shin-hye herself has been working with the action director team for a month and a half before filming started. In addition, she had to film for two months longer than Cho Seung-woo, who praised Park Shin-hye's strong kicks and punches. Cho Seung-woo described her as an 'extraordinary' actress.

5. An extraordinary filming set

Depicting Korea in the present and future as a barren place, there are so many interesting details to be found in the future version of Korea set. Director Jin Hyuk explained, "We show a future that is not glamorous. We consulted with various experts and conducted extensive research to create a realistic future look." Park Shin-hye continued, "There is a set that resembles Myeongdong, and it feels like walking in the real Myeongdong. Viewers will even be able to recognize some famous stores in Myeongdong."

6. Easter Eggs + Mystery

Previously, the teaser for Sisyphus featuring Park Shin-hye listening to BTS's song 'Spring Day' garnered a lot of attention. The director explained, "Seo-hae lives in a future that is destroyed by people killing each other and struggling to survive. Therefore, I thought about what could console her, and it seems like music is the right choice."

The director also admitted that 'Spring Day' is his favorite song and viewers can look forward to things related to BTS because Seo-hae is a fan of theirs. Not only easter eggs, this series also has a mystery surrounding the character behind the criminal named Sigma. The identity of the actor playing that role is still being kept secret, so you have to watch this series to find out who the actor is.
