Accusations of Insulting Indonesia by Sunny Dahye Called Hoax, Investigation Continues

Kapanlagi.com - Sunny Dahye finally reported a social media account to the police for spreading hoaxes and accusing Indonesia. It started with an account named "sunnyisaliar2", Sunny Dahye made a post mentioning that Indonesian viewers are stupid.

After several posts went viral on various social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), many Indonesian netizens believed in this news and started insulting Sunny and issuing death threats.

Following the incident, Sunny Dahye reported it through her legal representative to the North Jakarta Metro Police on August 20, 2021. Feeling that her reputation has been tarnished, her legal representative stated that the client's report, investigation is still ongoing.

"LP/B/515/VIII/2021/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKUT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated August 20, 2021, regarding the Allegation of Defamation and/or Threats through electronic media committed by the Owner of the account Sunnyisaliar2, which has harmed Sunny Dahye, is still ongoing and under investigation. The applicable articles are Article 45 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (3) and/or Article 45 paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (4) and/or Article 310 of the Indonesian Penal Code and/or Article 311 of the Indonesian Penal Code, with a penalty of 6 years imprisonment and a fine of IDR 1,000,000,000 (one billion rupiah)," said Sunny Dahye's legal representative, Ditho Sitoempoel.

1. Considered to Spread Slanderous News

The account name @sunnyisaliar2 has disappeared. Therefore, Ditho explains that the accusation is considered one of the things that are regarded as slanderous news.

"After causing a commotion, the anonymous account owner sunnyisaliar2 deleted their account, which proves that the anonymous account owner sunnyisaliar2 is suspected of intentionally tarnishing the good name of sunnydahye with baseless news and disappearing to avoid legal proceedings," said Ditho firmly.

"However, what they do not know is that even though the sunyisaliar2 account has been deleted, the Indonesian National Police has long had cooperation with Instagram and Facebook so that even though the account has been deleted, it can still be searched by Instagram and Facebook with a request from the Indonesian National Police," he added.

2. Cannot Hide from Legal Cases

Furthermore, Ditho also revealed that anyone who creates a disturbance by violating the law will face legal sanctions. Just like the owner of the sunnyisaliar2 account, they cannot hide from further investigation.

"That anyone who violates the law will receive legal sanctions, and the Anonymous Account Owner Sunnyisaliar2 will not be able to hide from the law, we believe that the Indonesian National Police will soon find the person behind the Anonymous Sunnyisaliar account," he said.
