Ahn Jae Hyun and Goo Hye Sun Will Undergo Mediation for Divorce Settlement in July

On Monday (06/22), the Seoul Family Court referred to the divorce lawsuit filed by Ahn Jae Hyun against Goo Hye Sun on May 19th for arbitration procedures. The Seoul Family Court will hold the first mediation for Ahn Jae Hyun and Goo Hye Sun on July 15th.

1. Mediation Procedure

It should be noted that couples who file for divorce must go through the mediation procedure before litigation. The continuation of the trial process depends on the outcome of the mediation.

If both parties agree to mediate, the divorce lawsuit will be withdrawn. If they both agree to divorce by mutual agreement, the relevant couple will immediately divorce. However, if they are willing to divorce but cannot reach a smooth agreement, the divorce process will be initiated.

2. The Love Story of Ahn Jae Hyun and Goo Hye Sun

Ahn Jae Hyun and Goo Hye Sun first met while starring in the drama BLOOD in 2015. They decided to continue their relationship to the marriage stage in May 2016.

However, in 2019, they announced that they would be divorcing. Starting from the wife's personal statement, HB Entertainment, the agency that was overseeing Goo Hye Sun and Ahn Jae Hyun at the time, clarified their divorce.

The agency stated that, "the two actors recently could not sustain their marriage due to various issues that they could not resolve, and after serious discussions, they decided to divorce."
