Nia DaCosta's choice to collaborate with this popular South Korean actor actually began from her love for watching Korean dramas. One of them was when she watched the drama ITAEWON CLASS starring Park Seo Joon during the Covid-19 pandemic based on her friend's recommendation. Through that drama, the director saw Park Seo Joon's performance for the first time as reported by Koreaboo.

"When I was a teenager, I was also a fan of Korean dramas. So, I started watching that show (Itaewon Class) to go back to my teenage years," Nia DaCosta revealed in an exclusive interview with Cine21 as reported by cnbcindonesia.com.

Nia DaCosta openly admitted that her decision to choose Park Seo Joon was not unrelated to her admiration for the actor's appearance in the popular Korean drama ITAEWON CLASS. She confessed that Park Seo Joon's performance in that drama caught her attention. This confession became the beginning of their collaboration as she chose Park Seo Joon for her latest project.

"Park looked really cool in that drama. Then, I started watching other works starring Park and remembered his name," said Nia DaCosta.

3. Called Suitable to Play Prince Yan

DaCosta's decision to choose Park Seo-joon as part of the film THE MARVELS also caught attention. Interestingly, DaCosta revealed that Park Seo-joon's name immediately came to mind when tasked with choosing the right actor for the role. Yes, apparently this decision was not taken lightly as the actor from South Korea is very suitable for the character of Prince Yan.

"When thinking about who is suitable to play Prince Yan, Park Seo-joon's name immediately came to mind," she continued.

4. Revealing the Character of Prince Yan

The character of Prince Yan played by Park Seo Joon successfully caught attention due to his interesting presence in the film THE MARVELS. This Prince from the planet Aladna is portrayed as the potential husband of Carol Danvers. In addition, THE MARVELS unites three strong female characters namely Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel.
