BLACKPINK Concert in Singapore, Rose Eats Chicken Rice on Stage

The BLACKPINK concert at the National Stadium, Singapore, on November 28 was lively and full of enthusiasm. This top K-pop group opened a series of three performances at the 55,000-capacity stadium with a show lasting about 150 minutes. A total of 28 songs were performed in a five-act format, presenting a grand concept with lighting, visuals, and choreography that were neat from start to finish of the concert.

From the first act, BLACKPINK immediately heated up the atmosphere with Kill This Love. The stadium instantly transformed into a sea of pink light from the fans' lightsticks—referred to as Blink. The strong and synchronized choreography further enlivened the atmosphere as audience favorites like Pink Venom, How You Like That, Playing With Fire, and Shut Down were performed in succession.

This Deadline world tour has a special meaning as it serves as a reunion after the four members focused on their individual solo projects. Rose, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie previously released their debut solo albums after the Born Pink tour ended. Performing together again, BLACKPINK demonstrated their solid unity and maintained stage energy.

In the second act, Jisoo opened the solo segment with Hugs & Kisses and Earthquake. However, the audience erupted in cheers when Lisa performed Thunder and Rockstar. Lisa's interaction with the audience became one of the most memorable moments. “Singapore is so ‘shook’,” she said repeatedly, met with loud cheers. She also blushed when she mispronounced the word “shiok.”

That little joke lightened the atmosphere. Lisa spontaneously said, “Is that right? No? I’m so sorry. I’ll do better tomorrow, I promise.” The joke was met with laughter and applause. Meanwhile, Rose chimed in, “I think Singapore is shy. It’s okay, we have more days to get to know each other,” which immediately drew a warm response from the audience.

The third act was filled again with songs from the group such as Stay and Lovesick Girls, reinforcing the sense of togetherness between BLACKPINK and Blinks. Then, Jennie took over in the fourth act with the most energetic performance through Like Jennie, turning the stadium into a giant dance floor.

A unique moment occurred when Rose performed solo. As in previous cities, she tasted local delicacies on stage. In Singapore, Rose chose chicken rice and ate it with chopsticks. That simple scene made the audience cheer, making it one of the highlights of the concert that night.

Rose then performed an acoustic version of Two Years and Toxic Till The End. Her strength as a vocalist was clearly heard, creating a more intimate atmosphere in the midst of the giant stadium. One of the most emotional moments occurred when a fan was invited on stage during the song Apt., singing along with Rose in front of tens of thousands of spectators.
