BLACKPINK Wins 5 Titles in Guinness World Records with MV 'How You Like That', What Are They?

Kapanlagi.com - Comeback BLACKPINK with their latest single How You Like That successfully shook the music industry, especially with their MV. The music video uploaded on BLACKPINK's official YouTube channel broke several world records.

With 86.3 million views on the first day of release, the MV How You Like That achieved new records in three categories. According to the Guinness World Records website, the three records are the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, the most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, and the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-Pop group.

1. Surpassing BTS Record

These three achievements surpass the previous record holder, BTS, who successfully achieved this title with the MV Boy With Luv in April 2019. BTS's collaboration MV with American singer, Halsey, garnered 74.6 million views in the first 24 hours.

The previous record holders for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours include Ariana Grande with the MV Thank You, Next (55.4 million views), Taylor Swift with the MV Look What You Made Me Do (43.2 million views), and BLACKPINK themselves, who held this title after the release of their EP Kill This Love (56.7 million views) for one week.

2. Two Other Records

Not stopping there, YouTube also confirmed to Guinness World Records that the premiere broadcast of How You Like That reached 1.66 million simultaneous viewers. This achievement adds two new records to BLACKPINK, namely the YouTube video premiere with the most viewers and the YouTube music video premiere with the most viewers.

Previously, this record was held by BTS with Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima, which was watched by 1.54 million simultaneous viewers. This video premiere aired on February 21, 2020.

3. Other Achievements of BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK, formed in 2016, recently collaborated with Lady Gaga on the song Sour Candy, which has successfully topped various charts in the United States and the United Kingdom.

BLACKPINK is also the most followed female group on Spotify and the music group with the most subscribers on YouTube, surpassing One Direction.

4. Preparing for an Album

How You Like That is the first single from the group under YG Entertainment since Kill This Love released on April 5, 2019. This single marks the beginning of BLACKPINK's comeback plans.

Currently, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa are preparing for their first Korean-language album, scheduled to be released in September. Before that, there will be another new song to be released around July or August. What other records will BLACKPINK break?
