In early 2021, the Korean drama THE SECRET ROYAL INSPECTOR AND JO YI was offered to Jo Byeong Gyu and Jung So Min. At that time, both were still considering the offer for the drama.

However, after Jo Byeong Gyu got involved in a bullying case, the offer was quickly redirected to Taecyeon. Taecyeon accepted the offer.
