In this drama, Song Hye Kyo plays the character Cha Soo Hyun, the daughter of a Korean politician who is forced to marry a wealthy man for her father's political interests. However, in the end, their marriage ends in divorce due to her husband's infidelity.

Song Hye Kyo is paired with a well-known actor in the drama Encounter, Park Bo Gum. However, their ages are quite far apart, 12 years to be exact. But apparently, that doesn't hinder their incredible chemistry in the drama.

3. Synopsis and Interesting Setting

Encounter tells the story of an accidental encounter between Jin Hyuk (Bo Gum) who is on vacation and Soo Hyun (Hye Kyo) who is on a business trip in Cuba. Initially, they thought their meeting in Cuba would only be a brief and temporary encounter. However, it turns out that when they return to Korea, Jin Hyuk meets Soo Hyun again. From there, their love story begins to unfold.

Another interesting note, Encounter is the first Korean drama to use Cuba as its shooting location.

The drama Encounter, which was released in South Korea in late 2018 and early 2019, achieved very high ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of this drama recorded high ratings with 11.4 percent audience rating in the Seoul area, with an average rating of 8.6 percent overall.
