Fans then suspected that the creator of SQUID GAME plagiarized from this film. Regarding this matter, the writer of SQUID GAME stated that he had written his film 5 years before AS THE GODS WILL was released.

The first game in this film is very similar to SQUID GAME, where the figure of Daruma, a Japanese doll, becomes the judge of the game.

The participants of this death game are then confronted with a giant living cat statue that continuously devours participants dressed as mice.
