As known, Chen's wife was revealed to be pregnant with their second child in November 2021.
Currently, Chen is serving his mandatory military service as a public service worker. The happiness of this EXO vocalist's family is surely complete with the presence of their second child.

On November 16, 2021, Newsen reported that Chen's wife is currently pregnant with their second child. SM Entertainment also confirmed the truth of the report.
"It is true that Chen's wife is currently pregnant with their second child," said SM Entertainment.

Last October, EXO's Chen announced that he would soon be fulfilling his mandatory military service. Chen began his duty on October 26, 2020. Personally, Chen wrote a letter to EXO-Ls as his announcement of his upcoming military service. In the letter, Chen asked for support from EXO-Ls.
"... I will do my best to show everyone a better image of myself when I return from military service, so I hope everyone stays well and healthy. I will also return in good health, both mentally and physically. I am always grateful and love you all," Chen wrote to EXO-Ls as reported by Koreaboo.

As known, in April 2020 or a few months after getting married, Chen from EXO officially became a father. Chen's wife gave birth to their first daughter.
Even though he was in the military service, Chen certainly didn't want to miss the special moment of his beloved child. It is rumored that Chen held a special doljanchi tradition (the first birthday celebration in Korea) at a luxurious hotel.
