Exclusive Interview with KEY of SHINee, Discussing the Mini Album 'Pleasure Shop', the Meaning of Happiness, and Missing Shawol Indonesia

KapanLagi Korea had the opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with KEY from SHINee. The idol who has debuted in the K-Pop world for more than 15 years shared many stories, from why the mini album Pleasure Shop was released on the same date as his birthday, to sweet memories of meeting Shawol Indonesia. Is there a specific reason why the 3rd Mini Album 'Pleasure Shop' was released on your birthday?

KEY SHINee: Actually, the timing is very right and I think it will be more meaningful if it is released on my birthday, that's why I chose this date.

Throughout your career, you have explored various concepts and music styles. This time, why did you choose the cyborg concept?

KEY SHINee: I hope “Pleasure Shop” not only looks like a nice place but also feels enjoyable or interesting if it can captivate people, that's why I decided on this concept.

What does happiness mean to KEY?

KEY SHINee: I think happiness is when the most basic joys are fulfilled. Like releasing music, eating delicious food, having a good night's sleep. I think fulfilling those basics is happiness.

KEY SHINee: What makes me happiest right now is the upcoming release of the 3rd mini album “Pleasure Shop”.

Are there any solo projects or collaborations you want to realize in the future, whether in music or other fields?

KEY SHINee: I always think about ideas to work with other artists, but actually I am too busy preparing my own album. If I get the chance, I would like to release an album in English as well. I think it would be fun to work on a project like that.

Can you give us a spoiler, who did you do the dance challenge with for this album?

KEY SHINee: SHINee members participated, Hoshi from SEVENTEEN. Other SM artists have also joined this challenge

You just had a concert in Jakarta last July. What was the most unforgettable moment from that concert or when you were in Jakarta recently?

KEY SHINee: The most memorable moment in Jakarta was when the fans sang my song loudly and had great Korean language skills. The fans sang my song very well. Since this was my first solo concert, the memories of the fans who gave me so much love and support are still fresh in my mind.

KEY SHINee: I hope to meet you more often in the future. SHINee World Indonesia, I really want to tell you how touched and grateful I am when you welcomed me and joined in singing my song, also enjoying every moment when I came there. I am always thankful for the attention and support you give, so I hope you will continue to support me.
