Exclusive Interview with WENDY RED VELVET, Spreading Her Wings in Solo Debut with Mini Album 'Like Water'

Q1. How do you feel after your solo debut? Do you still feel nervous like when you debuted with RED VELVET? Or even more nervous?

WENDY: The album has not been released yet, so I haven't felt nervous yet. But I'm sure it will be different when it's released and when I'm on stage.

Q2. Is there a specific reason why WENDY chose to have double title tracks for this debut album? 'When This Rain Stops' and 'Like Water' are related?

WENDY: Both song lyrics are based on my story. And both are related to water.

Q3. The song 'When This Rain Stops' contains the lyrics 'It's okay to take a rest for a while'. Can you explain when are the moments when WENDY wants to take a short break from routines? And what does WENDY usually do when taking a break?

WENDY: I feel very happy in every moment that happens in my life. I only worry about what happens on that day. And the rest, I will forget. Maybe that's why I always feel happy with my life. Maybe you guys can try it.

Q4. Just like the song 'Like Water' that WENDY dedicates to the precious people who are by your side all the time, if there is something you want to say to yourself for your hard work and gratitude all this time, what would you say?

WENDY: WENDY, this is the time to sing with all your heart, spread your wings, and enjoy it!

Q5. Are there any interesting stories during the recording process of the song 'Best Friend' with SEULGI?

WENDY: We practiced together before recording. At that time, we kept laughing because of the lyrics. Usually we never talk like that to each other. I think it's the first time we use cheesy lyrics to each other, so we kept laughing until we didn't have time to practice.

Q6.How is the support of RED VELVET members for WENDY's solo album? What is their opinion when listening to the songs on this album?

WENDY: The members came to the MV shooting location to show support by bringing a lot of fried chicken. They often send chats, asking about the recording, about my songs. Every time they listen to my songs, they really like them. They always support me. Thank you very much!

Q7.TMI about the album preparation, WENDY!

WENDY: I think this is not really TMI but I want everyone to know that this album is full of hard work, time, and love from many people.

Q8.From the 5 songs in the Mini Album 'Like Water', which song do you recommend the most to the fans, and why?

WENDY: They are all like my children. So I will recommend all of them to you. Listen! All of the songs are different. Maybe you will like all of them.
