Exclusive: Written Statement from Melani Mecimapro Responding to Fraud Allegations & Refund Issues

Kapanlagi.com - Currently, Fransiska Dwi Melani, also known as Melani, the owner of Mecimapro, is in custody and has been named a suspect in the alleged embezzlement of investment funds for the TWICE concert in Jakarta in 2023, following a report by PT Media Inspirasi Bangsa (MIB).

KapanLagi was connected by the Mecimapro team to conduct a written interview. Several questions included updates on the case she is facing and the issue of refunds to customers of the DAY6 concert. Here is the complete interview.

1. What is the development of the case, Mrs. Melani?

Melani: We have submitted a request for suspension of detention from the investigation level at the police, but there has been no clear response. My legal team and I are aware of the intervention/attention regarding this matter from certain parties and the circulation of information to "viralize" this case so that I cannot be free. If this case is indeed a purely criminal case, why is it being forced with an intervention that is known and allowed by the investigators? And why must my news be forcibly exposed by media affiliated with PT MIB?

I hope the truth can be revealed and the intimidation I am experiencing can be brought to light.

2. What legal steps will Mrs. Melani take next?

Melani: I hope the truth can be revealed and I get the opportunity to present the facts that occurred. Furthermore, I also want to clarify many misunderstandings in the realm of social media regarding myself and our company. We will also take legal action against those who deliberately report false and unbalanced information, including cyberbullying. There is so much information in the case files that we question and are ready to prove its inaccuracies in court.

3. What is the status of Mecimapro as a promoter currently? Is it still operating?

Melani: As I mentioned in the trial, we have responsibilities and want to fulfill our obligations, so we will do our best to continue operating.

Personally, I am grateful to my all-women team, the backbone of their families, for standing by me from the beginning until today.

4. Regarding refunds for DAY6 concert consumers, what is the latest development? Is there any response regarding the complaint from MyDay Berserikat?

Melani: We remain committed and continue the refund process despite many obstacles. We request a re-verification of the data for the following reasons:

a. The complaint will certainly hinder the refund process because the data from the complaint must first be excluded from the refund list;

b. Many fans attended the event but have not paid. This amount of funds is quite significant for us to use for refunds;

c. Administrative resolution with our previous partners.

Since the beginning of this legal matter, my heaviest concern has been this refund, and due to the detention process, our movements have been much more hindered. Hopefully, we can resolve this issue well.

Two questions from KapanLagi regarding when the refund will be processed comprehensively and why customers have to fill out their data repeatedly for the refund process were not answered by Melani.

5. Allegations of fund withdrawals to personal accounts?

Melani: The information regarding the check withdrawals in the indictment is purely for business purposes. The mechanism for using the company account at BCA bank is through check withdrawals that are backed up/accompanied by invoices or proof/slips of transactions. Therefore, in this case, the check withdrawals are not for personal accounts. We will be able to prove this in its entirety later. We actually question the BCA bank for opening our company account data without a valid power of attorney. We hope the bank can respond to this matter, and we will also take legal action regarding this.

The Melani party also did not answer KapanLagi's questions regarding the viral issue of a vendor claiming they have not been paid by Mecimapro.
