"Oh, he actually liked K-Pop first. He used to be a fan of BIGBANG, a VIP. But it was a long time ago and he just liked their songs. Maybe that's the difference between girls and boys, for girls it's like, 'Oh, he's handsome'. But Omesh prefers the songs, he buys the albums and that's it. Back in 2012, we had to listen to songs from CDs, so he bought the albums to listen to the songs," said Dian Ayu Lestari.
Dian Ayu Lestari also feels grateful because there has never been any prohibition from her husband regarding her fangirling hobby. As long as it's within reasonable limits. She is also not the type of fan who has to attend her idol's concerts.
“There is no prohibition like that, it's just normal as long as I'm still aware. Luckily, I started liking it after having children and being married, so there are many brakes. So without being told, it's like, 'Oh yeah, this is excessive',” said Dian Ayu Lestari.
“Like going to Korea to chase concerts, it's not possible anymore. If they come, I will watch, but if I'm just chasing for specific moments. For example, if there are plans but I selectively choose not to go every time they come back. But if, for example, they come back after finishing military service in 2025 or 2026, God willing, there will be a chance to go,” she continued.

She is also not the type of mother who influences her children to also like her idol. But she doesn't mind if her child listens.
“Oh no, I don't influence (my children). I don't listen in front of them either. But if they know and listen, well then. It's not like they understand, right? So it's better to listen to the music without forcing them,” said Dian Ayu Lestari.
Although she idolizes EXO, it doesn't mean that Dian Ayu Lestari doesn't like songs from other boy groups. As long as she enjoys the music, she will still listen.
“Anything, it's more about the music. As long as I like the song, I will listen. It's not like, you know, now it's not allowed to listen to this or that. Too old for that kind of thing,” she concluded.
