Although we often hear criticism about their sometimes anarchic actions, there are also some fans who are part of a specific K-Pop fanbase who improve that perception by carrying out commendable humanitarian actions.

The humanitarian actions carried out by a K-Pop fandom are quite diverse. Some of them initiate their own actions, while others are inspired by the actions of their idols. One of the fanbase groups inspired by their idols to carry out large-scale social activities is ARMY. ARMY itself is the fandom of a popular boy group, BTS, who is currently achieving several proud achievements. In 2020, ARMY successfully raised funds to support the Black Lives Matter movement amounting to US$1 million. ARMY took this social action after BTS and their agency decided to continue supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.

2. Fans Kang Daniel - Donations for Victims of Sexual Slavery

Not only from idol group fanbases, but fan groups of individual idols also do not want to be left behind in organizing large-scale social actions. Fans of Kang Daniel, for example, did this. They carried out social actions and donations on behalf of their idol. This action was taken in 2017. It turns out that this social action was carried out by fans to celebrate the anniversary of their idol, Kang Daniel. The donations collected were donated to the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan. They managed to raise funds amounting to more than Rp125 million.

3. G Dragon Fanbase - Annual Routine Donation

Not much different from the fanbase of Kang Daniel, the group of fans of G Dragon also made donations to celebrate the birthday of their idol. They carried out this donation action in the past year, precisely on August 18th, 2017. 

The fans of G Dragon raised a total of 8.18 million won, which was given to Purme Foundation. Purme Foundation itself is a non-profit organization that works on issues and helps disabled people in Seoul, South Korea. From this social movement, the fans of G Dragon received appreciation in the form of an award from the Seoul Arts and Culture Association. 

4. Hottest - Action for Stray Animals

The next fanbase that is carrying out a large-scale social action is Hottest. Hottest itself is the fandom of 2PM. Apparently, they are conducting this fundraising with the aim of celebrating Jun K and Junho 2PM's birthdays in 2021.

This fundraising is being carried out by the 2PM fanbase that is part of AIHU (All Indonesian Hottest United) and will be channeled to one of the shelters for stray animals in Jakarta. What is interesting is that in this fundraising action, Hottest who donates their money will also have the opportunity to receive attractive prizes from AIHU.

5. ELF - Covid-19 Fundraising

Similar to the fanbases of previous K-Pop idols, ELF also carried out a social action of fundraising to celebrate the birthday of one of their members, namely Eunhyuk of Super Junior. The fundraising carried out by these ELF fans will be directed towards COVID-19 referral hospitals.

This social action they are carrying out has been ongoing since the end of February until March 30, 2021. Certainly, this is a proud action and proves that fans of K-Pop idols not only often engage in controversial activities but can also carry out actions that have a significant impact on their surroundings.
