Netflix has released its latest film titled BADLAND HUNTERS on Friday, January 26, 2024. The action and adventure-themed film, with a duration of 1 hour 48 minutes, has attracted a lot of attention as it stars actor Ma Dong Seok, also known as Don Lee. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world and depicts the devastated state of Seoul due to an earthquake.
 
This film will highlight the struggles of survivors to survive in a collapsed world. They will not only face numerous threats from nature but also from fellow humans as this world is governed by power.
 
Ma Dong Seok, Lee Jun Young, Lee Hee Jon, Ahn Ji Hye, and Roh Jeong Eui will be starring in this film. One interesting fact is that this film is the directorial debut of Heo Myung Haeng, who has previously worked as a martial arts director in various renowned films such as TRAIN TO BUSAN, HUNT, and THE OUTLAWS.

Film BADLAND HUNTERS is a film adaptation of the second season of the popular Webtoon titled Happy Boy by Kim Soong Nyoong. Just like the Webtoon version, the plot revolves around the story of Seoul, South Korea after a major earthquake.

This film marks the return of Ma Deong Seok, after starring in Marvel's film ETERNALS in 2021, he has not been seen in a film from his own country. BADLAND HUNTERS signifies Ma Deong Seok's return to Korean films.

Reportedly, BADLAND HUNTERS is part of the sequel to the film CONCRETE UTOPIA which has gained recognition internationally. Park Bo Young, as the main actor, won the Best Actor Award at the 8th London Asian Film Festival for her performance in the film.

BADLAND HUNTERS focuses on the struggle of 3 coworkers trying to survive. Nam San as a desert hunter, Choi Ji Wan as Nam San's confidant, and Yang Gi Su as a doctor who survived the disaster.

This film is the first work or directorial debut of Heo Myung Haeng. He is known as the martial arts director of the THE OUTLAWS franchise in 2017. Reportedly, he will also direct the fourth installment following THE ROUNDUP: NO WAY OUT, scheduled for release in the first half of this year in theaters.
