The respectful attitude shown by J-Hope of BTS towards this Muslim fan happened in Singapore. Specifically, when BTS attended a special edition of Music Bank held live in Singapore in 2017.

At that time, a fan was randomly chosen to go up on stage to take a photo with BTS. Interestingly, before the fan went up on stage, J-Hope seemed to urge other BTS members to respect the Muslim fan wearing a hijab.

Various praises also flooded the YouTube video. One of them came from another Muslim fan of BTS. According to them, J-Hope respected the female fan because he knew that she was Muslim. 

"In Islam, a woman is not allowed to touch other men, unless you are married to them," wrote one of the Muslim fans who saw the video in the comment section.
