Jo Jung Min Reveals She Has been Diagnosed with Cancer, Has Undergone Surgery Despite Keeping it a Secret from the Public and Family

On November 28, 2023, Jo Jung Min participated in a singing contest aired on the MBN channel, called Hyun Yuk Ga Wang.

Jo Jung Min sang the song 'Ready, cue' and received enthusiastic applause from the audience. However, the judges gave her a score of 13, which was the lowest score in the competition.

After receiving the score, Jo Jung Min revealed a shocking fact that there is a possibility that she will not be able to sing the song again due to the cancer she is suffering from.

"Honestly, I underwent thyroid cancer surgery in June. So I don't think I will ever be able to sing this song, 'Ready Cue', again. I did hide the procedure from everyone, including my mother. But today I can sing," said Jo Jung Min.

The woman born on June 26, 1986 ended her statement by expressing her hopes for the song she just sang. "I want to entertain not only myself, but also everyone who listens to it," Jo Jung Min concluded.

Singer Lee Ji Hye praised Jo Jung Min for sharing her story after the judgment. "She is an honest person because she shares her story now (after being judged) and not before," said Lee Ji Hye.

For those of you who don't know, Jo Jung Min is an actress, singer, and model loved in South Korea. Before entering the entertainment industry, she experienced financial difficulties that made her graduate from college after 8 years.

Not long after graduating from university, Jo Jung Min decided to pursue a career as a singer. She made her debut as a trot singer under the stage name Joah in 2009.

After a five-year hiatus, precisely in 2014, Jo Jung Min returned to the music scene under her real name and released an EP titled 'Be My Love'.
