Jung Hae In Starring in Netflix's 'D.P' Drama, It's Not Ordinary

Kapanlagi.com - Netflix officially announces its latest Korean drama titled D.P., starring famous actors such as Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, and Son Suk Ku. This Netflix Original Korean production drama tells the story of a soldier who is suddenly assigned to capture military deserters and gets trapped in a very complicated situation.

D.P. stands for Deserter Pursuit, which is a unit in the Army that tracks down soldiers who evade their duties. Showing various issues in military life in depth, this drama is an adaptation of the webtoon comic by Kim Bo Tong, which has gained ten million readers in Korea.

1. Characters in the Drama

Here are the characters that will color the D.P. series:

Jung Hae In (SOMETHING IN THE RAIN, ONE SPRING NIGHT, TUNE IN FOR LOVE) plays Jun-ho, a soldier assigned to the D.P. unit because of his sharpness and perseverance. An Jun-ho is a quiet and not easily emotional young man, as well as obedient to rules. After facing various military desertion cases, Jun-ho must confront inner conflicts within himself.

Koo Kyo Hwan (PENINSULA, JANE) plays Han Ho-yeol, a corporal who leads the desertion detention unit. Although he appears carefree and without ambition, sometimes Ho-yeol can provide useful investigative knowledge to Jun-ho. These two actors are able to show great teamwork.

Kim Sung Kyun (THE FIERY PRIEST, REPLY 1994, NAMELESS GANGSTER, RULES OF THE TIME) plays the head of the D.P. unit, Park Beom-gu, who constantly reprimands Jun-ho and Ho-yeol, putting them under more pressure. Beom-gu is an experienced leader who always watches over his team.

Son Suk Ku (Sense8, Mother, Be Melodramatic, Designated Survivor: 60 Days) plays Lieutenant Im Ji-seop, an elite graduate of the Korean Military Academy who is also a Military Police Commander. His presence brings tension to the series as he only cares about the results of the work and does not approve of the D.P. unit.

This drama is directed by Han Jun-hee, who previously had success with his debut feature film titled COIN LOCKER GIRL. This film received an incredible response in the Korean film industry as it was selected to be screened at the International Critics' Week section of the 68th Cannes Film Festival in 2015. Han Jun-hee also wrote the screenplay for D.P., along with the original webtoon writer Kim Bo-tong.
