KAION in Jakarta, Proving KAI as a Top Performer Who Can Sing and a Handsome Adorable Bear

One of the most crowded was in front of the Tennis Indoor Senayan. Many people were seen wearing OOTD in colors like brown, blue, and even camouflage patterns like those of soldiers. They were there preparing to watch the stage performance of one of the famous K-Pop stars, KAI.

The EXO member, who is also a soloist, came to Jakarta as part of his first solo concert tour titled KAION, which is being promoted by CK Star. And KapanLagi.com had the opportunity to witness KAI's charming performance since the sound check. Here are some moments to remember while KAI entertained EXO-L Indonesia with his stunning performance at the Tennis Indoor Senayan.

1. Simple yet handsome during sound check

KAI started the soundcheck that could only be watched by CAT 1 ticket holders around 5:30 PM WIB. The singer, whose real name is Kim Jongin, wore a yellow t-shirt and had no makeup on, appearing as he is but still handsome and charismatic. He greeted the audience and seemed happy with the enthusiastic cheers from EXO-L.

KAI then sang Hello Stranger, and EXO-L joined in singing, making the idol look energized. KAI praised the excitement given to him. He is also confident that when the concert starts, it will definitely be more fun.

2. Top Class Performance

KAI has long been known not only as the main dancer of EXO but also as one of the best dancers in K-Pop, becoming a role model for his juniors. That title is well-deserved after witnessing his performance at KAION in Jakarta.

Since opening his performance with the song Sinner followed by his first title track, Mmmh, KAI truly mesmerized the audience. Almost every time he finished performing a song, thunderous cheers were given to him. It's not uncommon for his real name 'Kim Jongin' to be shouted together to show appreciation for KAI. Some of KAI's unforgettable performances include Vanilla, Bomba, Peaches, Adult Swim, Walks Don't Talks, Come In, Wait On Me, Confession, Domino and Rover.

When performing Vanilla, KAI suddenly wore glasses that made his handsomeness multiply. After that, his collaboration with dancer Bada Lee made EXO-L go wild because this part was highly anticipated.

Meanwhile, when performing Bomba, the atmosphere was truly heated. KAI performed this Latin rhythm song with enthusiasm, combined with the audience who also excitedly shouted 'bomba bomba bomba ratata'. Moreover, KAI's performance was accompanied by fire effects that literally made the audience in front of the stage feel hot.

When performing Adult Swim and Walls Don't Talk, he not only got the audience to sing along but also entertained them with his fun songs. Especially in Walls Don't Talk, KAI also showcased super cute dance moves that were then imitated by his backup dancers.

For Peaches, Wait On Me, and Rover, which are all title tracks, KAI's performance did not disappoint at all; in fact, it exceeded expectations. He not only got the audience to sing along but also to move their bodies because it was that addictive.

Confession and Domino were performed by KAI towards the end of the concert. Wearing a hat and leather jacket (which he took off while performing Domino), KAI was not only a skilled performer but also an incredibly hot man.

3. Main Dancer Who Can Sing

EXO has been known for the vocal abilities of its members. KAI, who serves as the main dancer, proved at this concert that he is not only great at dancing but can also sing.

From the sound check to the encore, KAI demonstrated that his voice is not much different from what we usually hear on music platforms or YouTube. What amazed the audience was that KAI was able to sing while dancing beautifully.

One thing noted by KapanLagi was his ad-lib in the song Rover. The song, which went viral and had a dance challenge followed by many K-Pop stars, was spiced up by KAI with some improvisations that proved that his mic is indeed on!

KAI has always claimed to be an introvert. But it seems that doesn't apply when he is on stage and inviting EXO-L to interact.

In between performances, KAI did manage to do a few speaking segments, commonly referred to as ment. From the start, he found ways to 'flirt' with EXO-L Indonesia, whom he could finally meet again after 6 years. He even remembered the last time he was in Indonesia for EXO's concert, Exploration, in 2019.

KAI also admitted that he was charmed by EXO-L Indonesia who looked at him with wide smiles, to the point where he said he wanted to bite. KAI confessed that he felt his love for EXO-L Indonesia was overwhelmed, and for him, this was the first time he surrendered because Erina (the nickname for Indonesian fans) was incredibly enthusiastic from sound check until the end.

KAI also made several hugging gestures because he felt so nostalgic for his fans in Indonesia. He also said 'popo' while pointing to his cheek and admitted he had seen this trend on TikTok.

5. Teased by Fans Back

KAI's love for fans in Indonesia is certainly not one-sided. In addition to receiving a warm appreciation from fans for his performance, KAI was also teased back by EXO-L.

KAI, who danced almost throughout the concert, was sweating profusely until his stage costume was soaked. Especially since he also had to wear a suit and a leather jacket.

That's why several times the audience shouted, 'open open' giving KAI the idea to just take off his shirt and show off his abs. But KAI was not that easy to give in.

"Everywhere is the same, right? You guys seem disappointed if I wear a shirt," he said before performing the song Vanilla.

Not only that, after finishing the song Confession, KAI took off his leather jacket and only wore a black wifebeater. The shouts to take off his shirt echoed again. After the translator explained that fans were shouting for KAI to take off his shirt, he finally commented.

"You want me to take off my shirt. Oh, it's not that easy," he said while pointing at the camera.

But it wouldn't be KAI if he didn't tease the audience. When he performed Domino, he briefly lifted his shirt and showed his abs, which immediately made Tennis Indoor Senayan shake with the screams of Indonesian fans.

6. KAI, The Variety Star

For those who have been following KAI for a long time, you surely know that he is now known as a funny variety star. And this charm was once again displayed when he met EXO-L Indonesia.

For example, during the first speaking session, KAI explained about the choice of the name KAION for his first solo concert. He asked that even though fans already know the meaning, they should pretend not to know so he could explain.

Additionally, after performing several songs, KAI suddenly asked if the audience was tired. "Are you tired? No? I'm the one who's tired."

Before the encore, the promoter held the EXO-L Dance Challenge. On the big screen, dances from KAI's songs were shown, and then the camera focused on the audience, asking those whose faces appeared on the big screen to dance.
