The Korean drama THE GANG DOCTOR starring the handsome actor Joo Won and the beautiful actress Kim Tae Hee is now airing on NET every Monday-Friday at 16.45 WIB, starting from January 20, 2021.

2. Handsome Actor Joo Won Portrays a Surgeon Specialist

In this series, handsome actor Joo Won plays Kim Tae Hyun, a skilled surgeon at Hanshin Hospital. Under the code name YONG PAL, Tae Hyun secretly risks his career by becoming a doctor on call to serve patients from the gangster and criminal underworld.

He does this out of necessity to pay for his younger sister's medical expenses. Tae Hyun's illegal actions are discovered by Dr. Lee (Chae Jung Ahn), his superior at the hospital. Tae Hyun is threatened with losing his medical license.

Dr. Lee challenges Kim Tae Hyun to care for a VVIP patient on the 12th floor of the hospital in exchange for canceling the revocation of his license.

3. Actress Kim Rae Hee Plays the Role of a Conglomerate's Daughter

The patient in question turns out to be Han Yeo Jin (Kim Tae Hee), the daughter of a conglomerate who has been in a coma for three years and is nicknamed the sleeping princess. Yeo Jin's father asks the doctor to always give her a special medication so that she can fall back asleep, as every time she wakes up, Yeo Jin tries to commit suicide due to the trauma of losing her lover.

The drama series THE GANG DOCTOR was initially planned to have 16 episodes. However, the evolving storyline led to the series having 18 episodes for its fans.

4. Achieving Several Awards

The Korean drama THE GANG DOCTOR also achieved several awards, including the Best Screenplay and Best Actress (Kim Tae Hee) categories at the Korea Drama Awards, as well as several categories at the SBS Drama Awards 2015, including the Best Couple Award for actors Joo Won and Kim Tae Hee.
