Prior to establishing this agency, he was a founding member of KeyEast agency and also formed a subsidiary called Content Y Entertainment. However, Yang Geun Hwan later decided to leave his old agency to create a new home for talented actors and actresses, namely Awesome Entertainment. Park Seo Jun, who has been with him since his debut, also moved from KeyEast to Awesome Entertainment.

Initially, Awesome Entertainment only managed 3 artists, namely Park Seo Jun, Hong Soo Hyun, and Yura. However, on June 2, 2019, the agency's founder announced that his old label, Content Y, had been fully acquired by Awesome Entertainment. In dramas, he started his career at the age of 24 and starred in DREAM HIGH 2 as Nam Si Woo.
