Mino WINNER Faces Criticism for Performing at a Club During Pandemic, YG Entertainment Releases Official Statement

Kapanlagi.com - Last weekend, media outlet Dispatch reported Mino who performed at a club in Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, amidst the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Responding to the controversy that arose afterwards, a representative from YG Entertainment released an official statement.

As reported by Allkpop on Tuesday (12/5), the representative from YG Entertainment revealed, "We have confirmed that Song Min Ho recently went on vacation with some acquaintances as a private event. We apologize for causing concern to many people. Considering the recent events, we promise to be more cautious and take further preventive measures to ensure that our artists comply with social distancing guidelines properly and take personal preventive actions."

According to Dispatch, Mino visited 'Club A' located in Yangyang last weekend in the early hours between May 3-4. There, WINNER member performed his solo song FIANCÉ spontaneously next to the DJ and surprised the club audience.

Dispatch further claims that most of the club visitors who enjoyed Mino's performance wore masks under their chins. The media also added that many 'Club A' visitors came from Seoul during the past weekend.

According to a representative of 'Club A', Mino only briefly stopped by when he was in the area. They did not invite him to perform. Furthermore, at that time, there were only a few customers, and most of the audience were acquaintances of Song Mino.

2. Coronavirus Pandemic in South Korea

Previously reported, it was revealed that a man who tested positive for COVID-19 visited around 5 different clubs in the Itaewon area during the past weekend. As of May 12, over 100 new COVID-19 cases have emerged in South Korea from individuals affiliated with the Itaewon clubs.
