Nearly One Month After Death, Choi Sung Bong's Body Has Not Been Picked Up by Family for Burial

"We appointed a contact person for Choi Sung Bong as the funeral organizer and informed them on July 12. So, after the funeral takes place, we plan to request a report on how the funeral was conducted within 30 days," said an official from the Gangnam-gu office in Seoul to News1.

1. Family Does Not Take the Body

Furthermore, it is reported that the deceased Choi Sung Bong's body is currently being kept in a temporary storage facility at a designated hospital because there are no grieving family members to claim the body. Star News reported on July 13 about the funeral details that will be arranged by Choi Sung Bong's acquaintance.

"We plan to prepare the mortuary room this Saturday (July 15). The location has not been determined yet," said the acquaintance to the media outlet.

Choi Sung Bong's acquaintance stated that they plan to receive visitors as soon as the mortuary room is prepared. Meanwhile, the funeral will last for two days.

"He was a lonely person, so it's difficult to let him go like this. He made a lot of mistakes and the public opinion about him is not good. But still, I believe people who want to express condolences will come to visit," added the acquaintance.

3. Leave a Last Message

As known, the police reported that Choi Sung Bong was found dead in his residence in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at 09:41 local time on June 20, 2023. Based on initial observations at the scene and autopsy results, the police ruled out suspicions of murder.

On the same day, Choi Sung left a final message to his YouTube channel community, expressing his sadness. "The reason I am writing this is to send a letter to my fans for the last time in my life. If you are seeing this, it means I am already dead. I sincerely apologize to everyone who has suffered because of my foolishness. I apologize. I will repay all the donations given to me in the past two years. Now, I want to redeem myself with my life," he said.
