Netizens Request Seolhyun AOA to Step Down from Her New Drama Due to Bullying Scandal, Production Responds

The drama, also starring Namgoong Min, tells the story of an incident that happened in a village 26 years ago. People who have intelligence beyond the abilities of normal humans, in exchange for losing their emotions, will gather together because of a mysterious incident to bring down those who use them as tools. As time goes by, they try to find their identity as ordinary people.

It was previously reported that Namgoong Min will play the character Do Jung Woo, a special detective in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Meanwhile, Seolhyun plays the character Gong Hye Won, a police inspector in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. The beautiful actress Lee Chung Ah is also in talks to play an FBI agent.

1. Asked to Resign

NIGHT AND DAY is currently in the process of filming and is scheduled to air in the second half of this year. However, there is a slight obstacle related to the recently discussed scandal.

At the end of July, Kwon Mina accused Shin Jimin of bullying her during their time together in AOA. The issue ended with Jimin stepping down from AOA, but in the subsequent accusation, Mina stated that other AOA members, including Seolhyun, remained silent during the incidents. Because of this reason, some netizens are requesting Seolhyun to resign from her new drama.

2. Drama Production's Response

In response to the request, the production team of NIGHT AND DAY released a brief statement regarding the actress who will star in their drama. Seolhyun will continue to star in NIGHT AND DAY unless she resigns.

"We plan to proceed as planned. Unless the actor expresses their desire to resign, we will not make any changes," a source from tvN stated, as reported by Soompi.
