The death of Lee Sun Kyun, a top Korean actor in late December, still leaves many questions. The latest, Dispatch revealed some new evidence suggesting that Lee Sun Kyun was a victim of threats.
A report published on Sunday (31/12) revealed that Lee Sun Kyun was allegedly a victim of threats and extortion for 105 days. This is longer than the drug case that involved him, which lasted only 71 days.
It is mentioned that on October 18, 2023, Kim, an entertainment company madam, was arrested. She has a record of six previous drug convictions. With such a heavy record, Kim tried to get leniency by mentioning the names of others involved.
The Incheon Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division then submitted a progress report on this case in order to investigate the drug use incident involving famous artists and top entertainment company employees in Gangnam.
The Incheon Police rushed to compile the report without proper internal investigation. The circulating information was exaggerated without verified data. A day after the report was made, an article was published in the Gyeonggi Sinmun newspaper, the first article related to the drug case.
Although the article does not directly mention Lee Sun Kyun's name, the title details that the names included a famous celebrity. Dispatch shows how quickly information about the investigation leaked to the media, just one day after the submission of the case progress report.
