Kpop girl group MOMOLAND officially announced their disbandment after seven years of career together. This news was announced directly by the six members through their respective social media accounts.

Nancy, JooE, Jane, Ahin, Nayun, and Hyebin uploaded handwritten letters to Merries, the name for MOMOLAND fans. The members apologized for the news of the group's disbandment and thanked the fans for their support over the past seven years.

The members also asked fans to continue supporting each member's activities in the future. However, as of now, there is no information regarding the members' activities after disbandment. 

1. The Next Group to Be Cursed for Seven Years

The disbandment of this group makes MOMOLAND the next K-pop group to be cursed for seven years. For Kpop fans, the seven-year curse is not unfamiliar. The seven-year curse in the Kpop industry occurs when a group is unable to survive in their seventh year.

Usually, the group disbands for various reasons, such as individual member activities or unilateral decisions from the company. Besides MOMOLAND, other groups like 2NE1, miss A, CLC, B.A.P, and Wonder Girls are Kpop groups that have fallen victim to the seven-year curse.

Rumors of the group's disbandment have been circulating since early 2023 after all members unanimously decided not to renew their contracts with MLD Entertainment. Through this statement, MLD Entertainment expressed their gratitude and will continue to support the future of all members.
