Original Korean Series 'MOVING' and 'BIG BET' on Disney+ Hotstar Win Awards at the 59th Daejong International Film Awards

Kapanlagi.com - Actors, critics, and studios gathered at the 59th Daejong International Film Awards where the original Korean series Disney+ Hotstar MOVING and BIG BET brought home several prestigious awards.

MOVING, an amazing story about a group of secret agents from South Korea who work to protect their super-powered family from threats and government exploitation, received the highly anticipated Best Series award, along with Han Hyo Joo who also won the Best Actress in a Series award.

BIG BET, a series about the struggle of Cha Moosik (Choi Min Sik), a manipulation expert with an insatiable thirst for power that leads him deeper into the criminal world to achieve his goals, successfully brought home the Best Actor in a Series award for lead actor Choi Minsik, as well as the Best Director in a Series award for director Kang Yunsung.

This recognition at Korea's longest-running film awards is the latest accolade in a series of awards given to APAC Disney+ Hotstar's original series. In October, the Busan International Film Festival's Asia Content Awards honored the Korean original series MOVING with the Best Creative Award, Best Visual Effects, Best Writer (Kangfull), Best Lead Actor (Ryu Seung Ryong), Best Newcomer Actor (Lee Jung Ha), and Best Newcomer Actress (Go Youn Jung); the Japanese original series 'Gannibal' received the Asian Excellence Award (Yuya Yagira); and 'Taiwan Crime Stories' won the Best Supporting Actor award (Hsueh Shih-Ling).

In September, the Korean original series BIG BET brought home the Best Program and Best Individual (Choi Min Sik) awards at the Seoul International Drama Awards. July also witnessed the recognition of Korean original series on Disney+ Hotstar at the Blue Dragon Series Awards, with 'Big Bet' winning the Best Drama Series award and the Best Supporting Male Actor award (Lee Donghwi), 'Revenge of Others' starring Shin Yeeun receiving the Best Female Newcomer award, and the host of 'The Zone: Survival Mission', Lee Kwangsoo, bringing home the Popular Star Award.
