'PARASITE' Brings Home Award from Golden Globe Awards 2020

Kapanlagi.com - The Korean film PARASITE won an award at the Golden Globe Awards 2020. The satirical genre film won the Best Foreign Language Film award at the prestigious event.

"Wow, it feels truly amazing and unbelievable," exclaimed Bong Joon Ho when receiving the award on stage.

1. Say Thank You

Bong Joon Ho accompanied by his translator expressed that he felt honored to win this award. He also hopes that non-English films will be increasingly appreciated.

"Once you overcome the barrier of subtitles, you will discover more extraordinary films... Even just being nominated alongside other filmmakers feels incredible," said the director of PARASITE as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

"I think we only use one language: cinema," Bong Joon Ho concluded.

2. Almost Nominated for Best Picture Award

Actually, PARASITE almost made it to the nomination for the Best Picture Award but unfortunately failed because it was in Korean. One of the requirements for this nomination is that the dialogue must be at least 50% in English.

In the Best Foreign Language Film category itself, PARASITE successfully defeated a series of films such as THE FAREWELL (U.S.), LES MISERABLES (France), PAIN AND GLORY (Spain), PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE (France).
