The name Kim Yong Gun may be unfamiliar to drama or film enthusiasts. But when you see the face of this senior actor, you will surely recognize him. Kim Yong Gun has appeared in dramas such as TEMPTATION OF WIFE, MASTER'S SUN, DOCTOR STRANGER, KILL ME HEAL ME, CINDERELLA AND THE FOUR KNIGHTS, and most recently participated in MYSTIC POP-UP BAR. He is also the father of top actor Ha Jung Woo (whose real name is Kim Sung Hun) and Cha Hyun Woo.

Now, Kim Yong Gun is facing legal issues as he has been reported by a woman referred to as 'A' in the Korean media. A claims that the senior actor encouraged her to have an abortion and refused to take care of their unborn child.

On Monday (2/8/2021), Dispatch reported on the case of Kim Yong Gun, who was sued by his ex-girlfriend who is currently pregnant. Dispatch mentioned that Kim Yong Gun and A met at a farewell party for a drama in 2008. And since then, they have been secretly in a relationship for 13 years.

Their relationship started to have problems in March. At that time, A was already pregnant and Kim Yong Gun refused to take care of the child due to his age of 76 years. A finally reported Kim Yong Gun, accusing him of forcing her to have an abortion.

After Dispatch reported on this issue, Kim Yong Gun finally made a statement. He mentioned that A often came to his house and made him happy. He also mentioned that A always took good care of him, for which Kim Yong Gun expressed his gratitude to the woman.

According to Kim Yong Gun, he found out that A was four weeks pregnant in April 2021. At that time, Kim Yong Gun admitted that he was not prepared for the news of the pregnancy because they never planned it and it didn't make sense to him for the child to be born. Kim Yong Gun continued to plead until A decided to cut off communication between them since May 21, 2021.

He felt grateful that his two sons were happy with the news. Kim Yong Gun then contacted A's legal representative to express his willingness to accompany A throughout the pregnancy and take care of their child.

Therefore, Kim Yong Gun admitted to being shocked when he received information that A had reported him through legal channels. Kim Yong Gun realized that he may have hurt A deeply and promised to take good care of her. Kim Yong Gun will also take responsibility if what he did was against the law.
