Long before joining THEBLACKLABEL, Youngseo underwent a lengthy trainee period at several renowned agencies including SM, ADOR, and Source Music. In fact, she managed to secure second place in R U NEXT?, a survival show produced by JTBC and BELIFT LAB to determine the six individuals who would realize their dreams of becoming K-Pop idols with the group named ILLIT.

Youngseo's inclusion in the line up of the group under the same management as ENHYPEN garnered significant attention from netizens, especially since she was one of the more popular trainees during the survival program. Unfortunately, on January 5, 2024, BELIFT LAB announced that they had terminated the contract with Youngseo, and she would not debut alongside the other five members of ILLIT (previously written as I'LL-IT). The specific reasons for her decision to leave were not detailed.

The owner of the real name Lee Youngseo is also often called by the nickname "Nyangseo," which is a combination of the word "Nyang" from the representation of a cat and the last part of her name, "Seo." On June 5, 2025, Youngseo caused a stir among the public by creating a personal Instagram account and uploading two of her latest selfies. Fans then speculated that she would soon debut because her social media username seemed difficult to obtain without spending money. Without hesitation, THEBLACKLABEL confirmed the news of the co-ed group's debut with Youngseo as one of its members.

ALLDAY PROJECT is a five-member group created by THEBLACKLABEL consisting of three females and two males. Based on the date mentioned in the video What Is ALLDAY PROJECT? on YouTube, they are scheduled to debut on June 23, 2025. A series of other teasers will be released gradually until the debut day arrives.

Not only Youngseo, but all the members of this group have been widely recognized long before they were introduced to the public on the midnight of Monday, June 9, 2025.
