Rapper Sik-K Sentenced to 10 Months in Prison After Turning Himself In and Admitting to Drug Use

South Korean rapper, Sik-K, has finally received a prison sentence due to a drug case that shocked the public. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison by the Western District Court of Seoul for violating the Narcotics Control Act.

Sik-K, known for his hip hop music and fashion, voluntarily admitted to using several types of drugs. He made this confession directly to the police station, something that is rarely done by celebrities in Korea.

This case has drawn public attention not only because of his celebrity status but also due to his decision to turn himself in and his remorse, which was deemed sincere by the court.

On January 18, 2024, Sik-K went to a police station in the Yongsan-gu district of Seoul by himself. He immediately confessed that he had used drugs.

He stated that the drug use included marijuana, ketamine, and ecstasy. This confession was made without pressure and actually showed personal initiative, making it an unusual step for a public figure.

2. Immediately Undergoing Investigation Process

After his confession, Sik-K immediately underwent an intensive investigation process by the police. The investigation led to his status as a defendant for violating the Narcotics Control Act in June 2024.

However, the court decided not to impose detention during the legal proceedings. Amid his case, Sik-K continued his career by releasing albums such as 3=1, KCTAPE Vol.1, KCTAPE Vol.2, and K-FLIP+.

On April 30, 2025, the Seoul Western District Court decided to impose a 10-month prison sentence on Sik-K. The sentence includes a two-year probation period and a requirement to participate in 40 hours of drug prevention education programs.

In its ruling, the court assessed that Sik-K's drug use was severe as it involved more than one type of illegal substance. Additionally, his status as a public figure was considered to aggravate the offense he committed.

4. Sincere Regret as a Mitigating Factor in Sentencing

Despite facing serious charges, the court noted several factors that mitigated the sentence against Sik-K. He was found to show sincere regret, did not evade the legal process, and promised not to repeat his actions.

The judge stated that Sik-K not only expressed regret verbally but also actively maintained social relationships and demonstrated concrete changes in attitude. His voluntary surrender was also considered as a factor that reduced the severity of the punishment.
