Kapanlagi.com - Zombie-themed films still seem to be a special attraction for film lovers, which makes filmmakers interested in presenting even more thrilling stories. In 2020, #ALIVE became one of the films that could be chosen for a thrilling watch for film lovers on Netflix.
#ALIVE itself is a film directed by Cho Il Hyung and starring Yoo Ah In and Park Shin Hye. This film tells the story of a zombie outbreak in the area where Oh Jun Woo (Yoo Ah In) lives. Jun Woo has to stay in his apartment to survive the zombie attacks alone for days. When he starts running out of food and giving up, he sees someone who survived in the neighboring apartment named Kim Yu Bin (Park Shin Hye). Jun Woo and Yu Bin work together to survive and seek help in a tense situation.

Although still themed around a zombie outbreak, #ALIVE is quite different from TRAIN TO BUSAN, KINGDOM, or other series or movies that highlight someone's struggle to survive during a zombie outbreak. #ALIVE focuses more on how Jun Woo tries to survive by using social media to seek help or updates on the situation outside his apartment. The situation becomes even more tense when Jun Woo eventually has to fend for himself without internet connection and electricity.
Jun Woo manages to survive for more than 15 days trapped in his apartment with the food supplies he has. However, he realizes that he cannot continue like this forever. At a point, he decides to end his life. This is where Yu Bin saves him. Both of them try to find a way to survive together and come up with ideas to escape their apartment and seek help.
#ALIVE takes the audience through moments of tension and makes them experience how Jun Woo searches for food or when he wants to leave his apartment. Jun Woo's daily life is portrayed so realistically, just like our own lives, that we feel as if we were Jun Woo.
The performances of Yoo Ah In and Park Shin Hye are certainly beyond doubt. How both of them express their fear in facing the surrounding zombie attack. Don't miss Park Shin Hye's extreme action that has never been seen before in her previous movies or dramas. So, you can watch #ALIVE on Netflix, KLovers.
