[REVIEW] 'DOONA!', Love Story of Former K-Pop Idol and Ordinary College Student that Warms the Heart

DOONA! tells the story of Lee Doona (Suzy), a former member of the popular K-Pop girl group, Sweet Dream, who is also the backbone of her family. She decided to retire at the peak of her popularity and hide in a boarding house near the campus. It is there that Doona meets Lee Wonjun.

Wonjun is an ordinary college student who only thinks about his family. He decided to live in a boarding house to reduce travel time to campus. When he meets Doona smoking in front of their boarding house, Wonjun asks if they have met before.

Doona, who had no plans to have friends, can't help but smile since getting to know Wonjun. While Wonjun initially refuses when Doona keeps inviting him to eat together, he doesn't expect that what Doona is doing would make his heart tremble.

In terms of story, DOONA! can be considered light and sweet. Although there are still problems in the relationship between two people and other life issues, to make the story more exciting.

The cinematography is beautiful, making our eyes comfortable staring at the screen for hours. Especially with the visuals of the cast.

The chemistry between Suzy and Yang Se Jong successfully makes us feel annoyed seeing their interactions. The friendship between Doona and other roommates is also enjoyable, as if we are seeing our own friendship with our friends. The supporting actors' performances as Wonjun and Doona's friends also make all the characters likable.

2. Other Plus Points

Another plus point of this drama is that all the soundtracks are enjoyable. Moreover, the lyrics are also fitting with the story. The melodies of the accompanying songs also match the cinematography.

The number of episodes, which is considered small, can be a hit and miss. For those who like dramas without unnecessary details, DOONA! will feel perfect with nine episodes. But some may feel that the story could have been made longer.
