Rock Your Style! Here are 10 Awesome Korean Rock Bands, Including THE ROSE - XDINARY HEROES

The first rock band is GUCKKASTEN, which debuted in 2003. Although they disbanded temporarily due to mandatory military service, the group resumed their career in 2007 with four members, Ha Hyun Woo, Jeon Kyu Ho, Lee Jung Gil, and Kim Ki Bum. GUCKKASTEN is still active in the Korean entertainment industry until now, Klovers.

HYUKOH as an indie rock group that debuted in 2014 is still active until now. This group consists of Oh Hyuk, Im Dong Gun, Lim Hyun Jae, and Lee In Woo. HYUKOH has also achieved various awards such as the Best Rock Band Award at the Seoul Music Awards 2015, Best Rock Band Award at the Golden Disk Awards 2015, Best Modern Rock Song at the Korean Music Awards 2016, and many more.

Next, there is ONEWE with Younghoon, Harin, Kanghyun, Dongmyeong, and Giuk as members. This group was initially formed under the name MAS 0094 (Make a Sound 0094) under the supervision of Modern Music. In 2017, they moved to RBW and changed their name to MAS. And in June 2018, it was announced that this group would make a re-debut with the name ONEWE. And officially debuted on May 13, 2019 with the name ONEWE.

Debut since 2001, NELL has members namely, Kim Jong Wan, Lee Jae Kyong, Lee Jung Hoon, and Jung Jae Won. As a rock music group, NELL has also received various awards such as the Best Rock Award at the 10th Mnet KM Music Festival 2008, Best Rock Awards at the 23rd Golden Disk Awards, and others.

SURL with four members named Seol Hoseung, Lee Hanbin, Oh Myeongsuk, and Kim Doyeon officially made their debut on September 9, 2018. This rock band also participated in the survival band competition Mnet Great Seoul Invasion in 2022, and successfully took second place.

Next is the rock band from JYP Entertainment, XDINARY HEROES. This group made their debut on December 6, 2021 with six members namely, Gunil, Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Jooyeon. Interestingly, all members of the group are involved in every song production. Their debut song, Happy Death Day, also entered the 12th position on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales.

Next up is THE ROSE, who made their debut on August 3, 2017. This group consists of Woosung, Dojoonn, Jaehyeeong, and Hajoon. Not wanting to be outdone, THE ROSE also achieved success at the International K-Music Awards in the Most Promising Artist category.

This pop rock band is certainly no stranger to KLovers. DAY6, consisting of Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, debuted on September 7, 2015, under JYP Entertainment. In addition to being talented in singing and playing musical instruments, DAY6 members are also talented in writing, composing, and producing their own songs. Of course, DAY6 also has a wealth of achievements such as the Band Music Award category at the Genie Music Awards 2018, Best Band Performance at the Genie Music Awards 2019, Best Band Performance at MAMA 2020, and many more.

Next up is N.FLYING, who officially debuted in 2013 under FNC Entertainment. This group consists of members Lee Seung Hyub, Cha Hun, Kim Jae Hyun, Yoo Hwe Seung, and Seo Dong Sung. With a rock music genre, N.FLYING won the Best 3 New Artist (Asia) award at the 2017 Japan Gold Disk Awards.

CODE NAME BLUE, also known as CN BLUE, is an indie rock group from South Korea. CN BLUE consists of three members: Jung Yong Hwa, Kang Min Hyuk, and Lee Jung Shin. They officially debuted in 2009 and are still active until now, Klovers.
