tvN announced the list of dramas for 2026 through their official YouTube channel, but 'SECOND SIGNAL' was not seen in the first semester airing schedule.
'SECOND SIGNAL' is designed as a continuation of the hit drama 'SIGNAL' that aired in 2016 and received high ratings and critical acclaim.
This drama was initially prepared as a special project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 'SIGNAL' and the 20th anniversary of tvN as a television station.
Cho Jin Woong, Lee Je Hoon, and Kim Hye Soo are known to have completed all production processes in August last year with a release target of June 2026.
However, Cho Jin Woong was embroiled in a resurfacing issue regarding his criminal record from his teenage years, which sparked public debate in December 2025.
He conveyed his apology, "I sincerely apologize," and stated that he would stop all activities as the end of his acting career.
The tvN side stated that they would protect the value of 'SIGNAL' and seek the best solution for the work and the audience, even if it takes longer.
