Officially announcing his comeback on August 8, 2022, on his social media account @bumkey. Key admitted that he has prepared many songs for this comeback since promoting the album AD LOVE.

In the album GASOLINE, Key stated that there are 11 songs included in the album's tracklist. Gasoline itself is the title track of his comeback album.

With a hip-hop dance concept and lyrics described as overflowing energy like a gasoline explosion. Key himself participated in writing the lyrics for four songs, Gasoline, I Can't Sleep, Proud, and G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time). 

Just released the MV for Gasoline on August 30, Key appeared in luxurious attire and sat on a throne. Here are some portraits of him!

In this 3-minute MV, Key showcases several luxurious and glamorous outfits. Key is also seen dancing with a group of background dancers, making him look like a king.

Although Key appeared enthusiastic, he admitted to being afraid of writing and releasing the lyrics. However, in the end, he felt very satisfied and thought that releasing 'Gasoline' was a good thing because this album tells the story of his life.

In addition to participating in writing the lyrics for his songs, Key also collaborated with Jeno from NCT DREAM in the song 'Villain' for the 'Gasoline' album.

Unlike other singers who choose to express their love stories through a song, the 'Gasoline' album actually has an autobiographical story from Key's life.

At the SMTown concert on August 20, 2022, Key surprised his fans by performing a live debut of the song 'Gasoline', even though the music video for the song has not been officially released.

In this solo comeback, there are three album versions: Floppy, Booklet, and VHS. Key shared the three concept photos of his album on his personal Instagram account @bumkey.
