Song Ha Yoon's Struggle Portraying Soomin in 'MARRY MY HUSBAND', Can Really Get Angry at Kang Jiwon Until Throat Hurts

During an interview on February 20, 2024, Song Ha Yoon coughed several times. She admitted that her throat has not fully recovered because she was forced to scream in anger throughout the shooting of the second part of 'MARRY MY HUSBAND'.

Previously, Song Ha Yoon felt that her roles were repetitive. So when she received the script for MARRY MY HUSBAND, she immediately agreed to challenge her acting abilities. As this is her first time playing an antagonist, Song Ha Yoon was willing to let go of her true self to portray a 'new face' on screen.

Song Ha Yoon has been preparing for the role of Soomin since February 2023. She doesn't want to share the heavy details of her preparation, as she's afraid of crying if she confides in someone else. Song Ha Yoon always incorporates emotions into the characters she plays, but this time she felt difficulty to the point of illness.

That's why she was willing to 'hurt' Song Ha Yoon for the sake of Soomin. She was willing to block all contacts with friends for a year. She also deleted all her Instagram posts. She did everything to fully immerse herself in her first antagonist character.

During filming, when she hears 'action', Song Ha Yoon feels like she's in a different world. Sometimes, she feels overwhelmed after filming to the point where she unconsciously says 'help me'.

Song Ha Yoon naturally feels really angry every time she hears cruel words from Kang Ji Won (Park Min Young). "My face and neck turn as red as a beetroot, so sometimes I have to calm down before filming. My hands tremble so much that I have to hold onto my clothes while filming."

Because of her character Soomin, Song Ha Yoon keeps her distance from others on the filming set and chooses to be alone. She says that if she gets close to other actors or actresses, she's afraid of being seen on the screen. She also said that she and Park Min Young can cry just by looking at each other.

Song Ha Yoon believes that Soomin loves Ji Won as a friend but also truly hates her. To her, Soomin is not a villain, he is just a character with a difficult life. Even from Soomin's perspective, Ji Won is the evil one.
