Sophia KATSEYE Hiatus, Five Months After Manon

Kapanlagi.com - Sophia KATSEYE announced a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her mental health. As reported by Korea JoongAng Daily, Saturday (8/8/2026), the decision was communicated through an official statement posted on Weverse.

“Sophia has received full support, and after thorough consultations with medical professionals, she has been advised to take a special time for a long break and ongoing care to ensure maximum recovery,” the agency stated.

The decision regarding Sophia was made about five months after the announcement of Manon's hiatus from Katseye.

In the announcement from HYBE and Geffen Records delivered on the group's official X account last February, the decision made by the woman whose real name is Manon Bannerman was said to have been reached through mutual discussion.

'“Hello. After open and thoughtful discussions together, we convey that Manon will take a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and well-being,” read the post on the group's X account.

1. Release of EP WILD

In the midst of hiatus news, KATSEYE is scheduled to release their third EP titled WILD on August 14. This release marks a continuation of the group’s body of work over the last two years.

The EP WILD contains five songs: “Hootie Frutti,” “Bel Air,” “That Way,” and two previously released tracks, “PINKY UP” and “Animal.” This tracklist has been confirmed as part of their main promotional material.

2. KATSEYE Promotion Agenda

Leading up to the EP release, KATSEYE will debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on August 12. This appearance is planned as one of the main promotional agendas to introduce their new material to a wider audience.

During the show, KATSEYE is scheduled to perform on stage and participate in an interview with the host, Jimmy Fallon. This agenda complements the series of activities leading up to the release of WILD.
