It turns out that Soyou, former member of Sistar, is reported to have left the agency that made her famous, Starship Entertainment. This news was confirmed directly by the agency through an official statement that they wrote and presented to the public. 

According to the South Korean news portal, Naver (08/09), Starship Entertainment appreciates the decision and thanks Soyou for being with them all this time, from being a trainee, becoming a member of Sistar, to becoming a solo singer with many fans. They also mentioned that they hope Soyou will still have many fans and remain loyal to Soyou, even though she is no longer part of Starship Entertainment.

Soyou was formerly known as one of the members of the girl group under Starship Entertainment, namely Sistar. They made their debut in 2010 with four members, namely Soyou, Hyorin, Bora, and Dasom. Their first album was released on August 9, 2011, titled SO COOL.

Their fourth single, So Cool, debuted at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart and the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 chart. In fact, the single achieved a series of 9 consecutive number one hits before they officially disbanded in 2017. They decided to disband in 2017 with each member wanting to focus on their respective careers.
